Green Tea Advert

10 Aug 2009 In: drink advertisements, drink videos

This is all kinds of awesome!

I gotta get me some green tea! Especially if it can give me some kind of crazy super powers.

Every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday will be funny/cool drink advertisement day. I’m searching the net for the greatest drink commercials that I can find and I’ll be sharing them all with you!

First up we have Carlsberg Sports, a drink from the UK. Not sure how well this advert worked because I haven’t seen Carlsberg Sports in the shops!

Coke Fizzy Milk Drinks

29 Jul 2009 In: crazy drink news, drink fun

Jules told me about this today, Coke is apparently testing out fizzy milk drinks. What?

coke-milk-fruit

Apparently the drink ‘Vio’ contains skim milk mixed with sparkling water and comes in fruit flavors. It doesn’t even need to be chilled for you to drink!!!!!!

They are going to be marketing the new drink as a refreshment drink rather than a healthy milk drink which makes sense, especially as any milk drink that doesn’t need to be cold for you to drink has got to have some funky engineering going on.

Again what?

Fizzy fruit milk, I’m intrigued but also a little skeptical. As soon as we can get one of these in our hands you can expect a video review!

Do you have a thirst?

Quench it with Powerthirst!

Whist this is not a review it is drinks related.

On the label it says Autumn, but honestly this drink still has me thinking of summer.

Pink Grapefruit and Cranberry is the 2nd Qu4ttro Stagioni Spring drink I’ve tried and much like the first its pretty darn good.

Pouring the strangely unnatural looking beverage into my mouth the big surprise was how sweet it was, imagine your mouth filled to the brim with starburst; kinda like that but without the actual starburst. After a few seconds it’s like you mouth has been jilted at the ‘taste’ alter; the sweetness runs away leaving you in dry and sour town.

Summers almost gone, so if your looking for a drink that’s going to remind you how awesome summer was and also how crappy winter is going to be, then check this out.

For a drink that contains 17% juice (16% orange, 1% Passion Fruit) I was quite surprised at how juicy Qu4ttro Stagioni Spring actually tasted.

At was reminded of the ‘classier’ 100% juices that you’d end up spending your life savings on. Funnily enough the passion fruit overpowers the orange at first, but eventually the orange seeps back in to give a decently balanced mix.

Think summer days, a beach ball, and possibly a trampoline.

I like.

Shielding the can as I carried it, I hurried from the Off License before anyone had time to infer, ‘That looks like just the kind of person who would drink Shandy Bass.’

I hadn’t put much effort in this morning.

Both the name and the tired looking design put me in mind of musty carpets in the home of an elderly couple who refuse to leave a house that’s clearly become too much for them.

Upon tasting it however, I am transported to my own, more youthful experiences by its post-party cleanup flavour.

‘Look! A full beer! Seems cold enough.’

No clean pint glasses to be found and not bothering to even tip out any clear liquid at the bottom ( ‘It’s probably just water…’ ), it’s not long after the first sip that you realise the beer you added was already a lost cause.
And contained several cigarette butts.

The experience is so perfectly recreated by Shandy Bass that I hope that the (anti)eureka moment to bottle it at least got its creator out of holding the garbage bag. The fact that it was carried though to the finished product suggests that it must have been some party.

Tizer’s bright can design and simple font lept off the shelf promising a warm summer night refreshment with bite. Now with added bite apparently.

It did not disappoint but the experience was not as i had expected. That appealing design promised citrus flavours as what appeared to be lemon and lime rinds twisted themselves across a blood orange background. Once i was passed the initial pungent smell, reminiscent of freshly cleaned kitchen benchtops, I was hit with the surprising taste. Pleasant candy fruit flavors followed but that bite which provided an invigorating tactile experience although added little to the taste. That unusual taste. Turns out it was carrot and safflower.

All in all a pleasant although complicated beverage, that will make you reach for it again.
